Sport Arenas and Other Things to Do in Philadelphia

Philadelphia is home to several large sports arenas and they are a prominent force in all major sporting events including football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey. The three main sports arenas are The Lincoln Financial Field, which is home to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles; The Wells Fargo Center, which is home to ice hockey’s Philadelphia Flyers and basketball’s Philadelphia 76s; and the Citizen’s Bank Park, which is home to the baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia is home to one of the largest parks in the country, Fairmont Park. The park system consists of over 60 parks throughout the city that have several walking trails, picnic areas and other great outdoor activities. The popular Philadelphia Zoo is located on the grounds of Fairmont Park and is a great place to visit for the entire family. Franklin Square is another great tourist attraction and housing a carousel, miniature golf course and several food stands. In addition to the park, Philadelphia also has several different walking tours that give a complete overview of this historic town, as well as horse and buggy rides through the town.
